WWE star Pete Dunne made a surprise appearance on Friday, August 22, at the Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling show “Someone’s Knocking at the Door” in London, England. His arrival came after the main event, which saw Nico Angelo defeat Mark Andrews for the Riot Cabaret Championship. Following the match, Andrews, a fellow NXT UK alumnus, attacked the new champion with a steel chair. Dunne then entered the ring to confront Andrews and prevent further assault.
The promotion highlighted the moment on social media, posting, “What. A. Moment. @PeteDunneYxB shook Riot Cabaret to its core last night with a shocking appearance towards the end of our biggest main event ever!”

This marks the second time in August alone that Dunne has competed for a non-WWE promotion. On August 2, he faced and defeated Jonathan Gresham at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV in New Jersey. His independent schedule in 2025 also includes a victory over Sammy D at an OTT Homecoming show on March 22.
These independent dates coincide with Dunne’s prolonged absence from WWE’s official match cards. Neither he nor his New Catch Republic tag team partner, Tyler Bate, have competed in a WWE match since a Main Event taping in May 2025.
Despite his absence from the ring under his own name, Dunne is rumored to be actively involved in a storyline on Monday Night RAW. It is believed he is one of the wrestlers portraying El Grande Americano, a masked character first introduced in March. The gimmick, initially thought to be Chad Gable, has since been portrayed by multiple individuals, with speculation pointing to Dunne and Tyler Bate being two of the recent men behind the mask.
