John Cena and Brock Lesnar will meet again on September 20 at a WWE premium live event in Indianapolis. The match is expected to be the final chapter in a rivalry that has spanned more than two decades, and it’s timed to compete directly with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view.
Their latest clash began at SummerSlam on August 3, when Lesnar returned after a two-year absence. He entered the ring moments after Cena’s match with Cody Rhodes and dropped him with an F5, reigniting a feud that had been dormant since their last encounter.

Lesnar’s comeback came after reports that he was cleared to return roughly a month before SummerSlam, following a lengthy absence connected to the Janel Grant lawsuit.
The September showdown is part of Cena’s ongoing retirement tour, which is scheduled to wrap up at the end of 2025. With fewer than a dozen matches left on his calendar, facing Lesnar offers one of his final marquee moments. Before then, Cena will face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris on August 31.
While WWE has yet to confirm the match on television, multiple outlets, including the Wrestling Observer, report it as the planned main event. The bout brings together the personal history between Cena and Lesnar with the business stakes of WWE counterprogramming AEW on the same night.
