WWE Reportedly Still Has Plans for a Roman Reigns Match at Clash in Paris

Roman Reigns has been pulled from the World Heavyweight Title match at WWE Clash in Paris. A new challenger is set to step in.

WWE Reportedly Still Has Plans for a Roman Reigns Match at Clash in Paris

The main event for WWE Clash in Paris has changed. Roman Reigns is officially out of the World Heavyweight Championship match set for August 31. Seth Rollins will now defend his title in a Fatal Four-Way against CM Punk, LA Knight, and Reigns’ cousin, Jey Uso.

Reigns’ removal is tied to his expanding Hollywood schedule. He begins filming as Akuma in the new live-action Street Fighter movie in Australia this September, a role that requires advance preparation. This follows the August 6 release of his latest film, The Pickup.

Even though he’s out of the title picture, Reigns is still listed for the Paris event and is expected to wrestle in a non-title match. Current WWE programming points to Bronson Reed as his likely opponent. Reed has been provoking Reigns for weeks, calling himself the “Tribal Thief” and pushing their feud toward a singles match.

This keeps one of WWE’s biggest names on the card for its first premium live event in Paris, shifting the focus from a championship defense to a personal rivalry. Reigns’ last singles match at a major event was his WrestleMania XL loss to Cody Rhodes.

After Clash in Paris, Reigns will take time away for his movie role. Plans call for his return in time for Survivor Series: WarGames in November, continuing WWE’s approach of using his limited appearances for maximum storyline impact.
