WWE Referee Charles Robinson Hospitalized Following Medical Emergency

It has been a strange and physically taxing year for veteran WWE official Charles Robinson. That continued in the early hours of Wednesday, when he ended up in the emergency room after an unexpected run-in with a wild animal.

Posting on Instagram, the senior referee described the incident that kept him in the hospital for hours.

“Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That’s right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots.”

This visit adds to a rough stretch for Robinson. Earlier this year, he became the subject of a false death report on social media and suffered a rib injury after being speared by Goldberg during the Hall of Famer’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Those moments came after the June 28 Night of Champions event, where Robinson was accidentally knocked down by a John Cena shoulder tackle. He had been running to the ring to officiate a potential Money in the Bank cash-in by Seth Rollins during Cena’s match with CM Punk. The collision stopped the cash-in and quickly went viral.

Robinson later said he wasn’t badly hurt but noted that Cena never apologized for the hit. Now, with the bat bite episode, the longest-serving referee in WWE history has faced yet another test in a challenging year. His resilience, however, remains a constant.
