According to a report from WrestleVotes, WWE superstar Omos has been discussed for an appearance at this Saturday’s Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event, Triplemania XXXIII. The report notes that discussions have taken place and that the 7’3″ superstar could “very well appear this weekend.”
The internal goal for Omos’s potential appearance is to continue establishing him as a “bona fide special attraction” outside of WWE’s primary programming. Per the report, WWE management believes a run in AAA could be highly beneficial for him. Despite his infrequent use on WWE television, Omos signed a new multi-year contract with the company earlier in 2025.
This potential appearance follows WWE’s acquisition of AAA, which was officially announced during WrestleMania 41 weekend. The deal is believed to be complete, with plans to utilize the Mexican promotion as a developmental territory for WWE.
The strategy of booking Omos for international promotions is not new. He completed a brief but successful tour with Japan’s Pro Wrestling NOAH in late 2024 and early 2025. Omos has not competed in a standard match on WWE programming in over two years, with his most recent appearance being the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024.
As of Friday, August 15, neither WWE nor AAA has officially confirmed that Omos will be at Triplemania XXXIII on Saturday, August 16. The event is scheduled to stream live on WWE’s YouTube channel.
