Top WWE Tag Team’s Losing Streak Grows On SmackDown

The downward spiral for former WWE Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa continued with a loss to The Street Profits on SmackDown.

The unfortunate streak for former WWE Tag Team Champions #DIY continued on SmackDown, as Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were defeated by The Street Profits. The loss marks their seventh consecutive defeat in a televised match, furthering a winless period that dates back to February.

The match on the August 15 broadcast was set up after a heated backstage argument between the two teams on last week’s show. Despite a hard-fought contest, Gargano and Ciampa were unable to overcome The Street Profits. The team’s last televised victory took place on the February 21 episode of SmackDown, where they defeated Pretty Deadly.

Tensions Stem from SummerSlam Incident

The animosity between #DIY and The Street Profits has been building since SummerSlam. #DIY has accused Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of being responsible for a significant fall Candice LeRae, Gargano’s wife, took through a ladder during a TLC Match at the event.

This latest victory improves The Street Profits’ record to 3-0 against #DIY in traditional tag team matches. The win also moves Ford and Dawkins into a position for a potential WWE Tag Team Title shot against the current champions, The Wyatt Sicks.
