Bronson Reed has intensified his attacks on Roman Reigns ahead of their scheduled match at WWE Clash in Paris, stating his intention is to not only steal another pair of his opponent’s shoes but to “take his career.” Speaking on the “Raw Recap Show,” Reed also mocked Reigns’ personal hygiene.
Detailing his motivations, Reed positioned their upcoming confrontation as a pivotal moment.
“He’s untouchable, and he’s one of those guys who has led the industry for the last decade, but it’s time for someone to beat him up and take his spot. This is my time to take that top spot, and I’m going to give it everything. I’m going to beat Roman Reigns.”
He further taunted Reigns by referencing his Australian heritage, suggesting he might perform a “shoey” in Paris, but added:
“The only thing is, I don’t know if I want to drink out of Roman Reigns’ stinky shoe. Smell these things. I’ve been wearing them around my neck, so I smell them every week. Not great.”
Reed’s comments add another layer of intensity to the match scheduled for August 31, which is already surrounded by significant backstage speculation regarding the potential return of Alberto Del Rio. Recent reports from multiple outlets indicate that Roman Reigns is a primary advocate for bringing Del Rio back to WWE after a nine-year absence.
This push is reportedly supported by several influential locker room figures, including The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Rey Mysterio. The movement gained public visibility on August 18 at Triplemania XXXIII, where crowds chanted for Del Rio, and Mysterio responded positively. Reigns has allegedly justified his support by citing his Samoan cultural values of loyalty and justice.
Speculation fueled by Lucha Libre Online suggests that Reigns could introduce Del Rio as an ally at Clash in Paris to counter Bronson Reed, who is a member of The Vision faction. An alliance between Reigns and Del Rio would be a first for the two former adversaries and could significantly alter the main event scene on Raw.
Despite the strong support from key superstars, WWE management has not confirmed any plans for Del Rio’s return. The company’s official reluctance is believed to stem from Del Rio’s controversial history, which includes two prior dismissals in 2014 and 2016, wellness policy violations, and a reputation for backstage disputes. As of August 20, no official announcement has been made connecting Del Rio to the upcoming event in Paris.
