Omos Returns at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII

WWE Superstar Omos made a surprise return at AAA Triplemania XXXIII, winning the Copa Bardahl Battle Royal after a 203-day hiatus from the ring.

WWE superstar Omos made his in-ring return after a 203-day absence on August 16, competing at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII. As part of a promotional partnership between WWE and AAA, Omos was an entrant in the 14-person Copa Bardahl Battle Royal, a match he went on to win. The bout allowed for eliminations by either pinfall or submission.

The Nigerian Giant’s last appearance in a WWE ring was in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 5, 2024, episode of SmackDown. His most recent televised singles match in the company was against Seth Rollins at Backlash in May 2023.

During his hiatus from WWE programming, Omos competed for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. In January 2025, he captured the GHC Tag Team Championship but relinquished the title following his final match for the promotion on January 25, stating his intent to return to WWE.

Despite his on-screen absence, WWE signed the former RAW Tag Team Champion to a new multi-year contract in June 2025. In interviews conducted during his break, Omos mentioned he was waiting for the appropriate storyline for his return and had been working on adding new elements to his in-ring style. He also noted that his time in Japan was beneficial for his personal and mental health, allowing him to “find himself as a performer.”

The Copa Bardahl Battle Royal also featured the return of fellow WWE superstar Otis, who had been recovering from an injury.
