During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Natalya addressed the status of Women’s World Champion Naomi, who was not medically cleared for her scheduled match this past Monday on Raw. Natalya described the situation as “private” and “personal,” emphasizing that the champion currently “needs space.”
“I feel like she will talk about it when she’s ready to talk about it,” Natalya stated, indicating that she, like many, is not fully aware of the specifics behind the absence.

Naomi was scheduled to defend the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY on the August 12 episode of Monday Night Raw. Prior to the event, WWE made an official announcement that Naomi was “not medically cleared to compete,” offering no further details regarding her condition or a timeline for her return.
Natalya confirmed that Naomi was looking forward to the match. “I know she would have loved to have wrestled IYO on Monday,” she said.
The WWE veteran also commented on the desire for information while stressing the importance of discretion. “There’s a part of me that wants to be like, ‘Hey, Trin, like, what’s going on? Tell me, give me the scoop,’” Natalya admitted. “But the other part of me is like, sometimes when people are going through something… I feel like she will talk about it when she’s ready.”
Naomi’s absence occurs in the midst of a significant career milestone. She recently won the Money in the Bank briefcase and successfully cashed it in at the Evolution premium live event to capture the Women’s World Championship. Natalya recalled the emotional scene backstage following the title victory.
“She cashes in at Evolution, which is a great way to cash in,” Natalya said. “I mean, every girl was at Gorilla, hugging her and crying, and every guy was too. Everybody was just so happy for her.”
