Major Roman Reigns Announcement Made On SmackDown

WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will open the August 25th episode of Monday Night Raw. The show will be broadcast live from England. The announcement follows Reigns’ return on this past week’s episode, where he confronted Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed before officially challenging Reed to a match at Clash in Paris.

The singles match between Reigns and Reed was made official for Clash in Paris by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce via a video posted on WWE’s X profile. The storyline between the two has included Reed stealing a pair of Reigns’ sneakers and adopting the moniker “The Tribal Thief.”

The upcoming premium live event match will be Reigns’ first one-on-one contest since the January 6, 2025, episode of Raw. For Reed, it is his most significant singles match to date and his first on a premium live event since November 2024.

Clash in Paris is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena. Following the event, reports indicate Reigns may take a hiatus from WWE programming to film a “Street Fighter” movie, with a potential return scheduled for Survivor Series in November.

The current lineup for the August 25th episode of WWE Raw is as follows:

  • Roman Reigns to open the show
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Roxanne Perez
  • Kofi Kingston vs. Penta
