Karrion Kross Responds After Being Mentioned On SmackDown

Free agent Karrion Kross has responded to fan support shown during the August 15 episode of WWE SmackDown. Chants of “We Want Kross” were audible during the broadcast’s opening segment featuring Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa. Kross, whose WWE contract expired on August 10, addressed the chants via social media with a post stating, “I hear you.”

This public acknowledgment follows his recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani show, where he addressed his status as a free agent. Kross stated that his departure is not part of a WWE storyline.

“I’m not trying to turn this into a game. It’s not a game for me, it’s my life,” Kross said. “I’m very big on loyalty, but loyalty is a two-way street. I’m very interested in trying to recover what I think is easily recoverable, but it takes two people to come together and talk about it. I’m still here.”

Despite the circumstances of his exit, Kross confirmed that both he and Scarlett still wish to be in WWE.

Contract Negotiations and Departure

Details surrounding Kross’s exit emerged earlier in the week. He revealed that WWE did not present him with a new contract offer until the week his previous deal was set to expire. According to Kross, he was given a 24-hour window to accept the offer. When he requested specific details and metrics to understand the valuation behind the offer, he claims the company was unwilling to provide the information, and the offer was subsequently rescinded. This led to his and Scarlett’s contracts officially expiring on August 10.

Kross and Scarlett’s last appearance for WWE was at SummerSlam, where Kross faced Sami Zayn. Kross noted that he sensed his departure was imminent at the event but maintained his professionalism to ensure the focus remained on the babyface, Zayn.

Since becoming a free agent, Kross has begun accepting independent bookings and has started selling merchandise under the name ‘Killer Kross’ through Pro-Wrestling Tees. Reports indicate that the duo is commanding a “very high price tag” for appearances. Their first post-WWE booking has already been announced.
