Karrion Kross Makes Shocking Revelation About AEW Following WWE Departure

Karrion Kross says AEW hasn’t reached out since his WWE departure and explains why he thinks people are confused about his status.

Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross addressed the rumors surrounding his next move. He confirmed that AEW has not contacted him since his WWE contract ended and believes the lack of outreach from other major companies comes from a common assumption—that his departure is part of a storyline.

“A lot of people think it’s a work. Everyone’s thinking, I’m just going to pop up under some other company that’s in the WWE umbrella. They’re hoping I do because this seems so nonsensical to people … This is baffling to me, too.”

Kross’s free agency followed unsuccessful contract talks with WWE. He explained that he asked for specific details on the value and metrics of a last-minute offer but was denied the information. The offer was then pulled. His wife, Scarlett, wasn’t offered a deal at all, leading both to leave when their contracts ended on August 10.

He made it clear he isn’t chasing another major television deal. While several companies have contacted him, Kross said his focus remains on continuing talks with WWE.

“I’m not fishing for any major television wrestling companies to call me. I have been contacted by several, but I’m not looking for that. That’s not actually what I’m looking for. I would like to explore the conversation more with WWE.”

For now, Kross is working under his “Killer Kross” name again and has released new merchandise, signaling a return to the independent circuit. His future remains uncertain, with the situation straddling the line between a real contract dispute and the kind of storyline he knows fans expect.
