Karrion Kross Makes Major Announcement After WWE Release

On Sunday, August 17, just one week after his WWE contract expired, Karrion Kross released a new entrance theme and music video on his YouTube channel, signaling a return to his “Killer Kross” persona. The hard rock track, titled “Don’t Kross A Killer,” is performed by the artist NOWHERE2RUN.

The song’s lyrics appear to directly address his recent tenure with WWE. Lines such as, “From Hunter To A Pawn,” and, “Tried To Turn You To A Reject / Said The Shine Had Been Lost,” are being interpreted as commentary on the handling of his character. The chorus includes the line, “Don’t Cross A Killer,” while another verse states, “My Wings Have Finally Grown / Now I Know That I Can’t Fall,” suggesting a focus on the next phase of his career.

The release has intensified the ongoing discussion surrounding the nature of his and Scarlett Bordeaux’s departure from WWE. While the move to release music under a pre-WWE moniker suggests a legitimate exit, speculation that their free agency is a work continues. Kross has publicly stated his departure is not a storyline, citing disappointment with the contract negotiation process, which he claimed involved a 24-hour deadline to accept an offer for himself without a corresponding offer for Scarlett.

Despite his public statements, the high reported asking price for independent appearances has reportedly led to some promoters being hesitant to book him. Currently, Kross and Bordeaux’s known bookings are for non-wrestling appearances, meaning it is not yet known when or where the new theme music will be used for a match. The accompanying music video was filmed at “Bank on 8th” in Homestead, Pennsylvania.
