Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s run with WWE officially ended on August 10. Kross didn’t hide his frustration with how negotiations played out. In a statement, he said discussions about his future felt “superficial” and not like a real conversation, leaving him disappointed.
“I’m not going to beg; I already clarified… The conversation made me profoundly disappointed because I think about this business differently than the person I was speaking to,” Kross said.
He had made it clear he wanted to finish his career with the company and was even open to a backstage production role. Still, he revealed that officials discouraged him from acknowledging organic “We want Kross!” chants from the crowd.
The exit came with a series of sudden moves. Kross and Scarlett were set for the August 4 episode of RAW, but their travel was canceled at the last minute. That left the main stipulation from his SummerSlam match with Sami Zayn—where Kross was supposed to admit he was wrong—completely unresolved on TV. Once the contract expired, WWE shifted both to the alumni section of its website and pulled their entrance theme from streaming platforms, a usual sign of a final departure.
Conflicting reports only added to the uncertainty. Early word was that no new deal was offered. Later, multiple outlets reported WWE did make a last-minute pitch to re-sign them, but nothing was agreed upon. The situation caught talent and creative team members off guard, as most expected a deal to be done.
The whole thing mirrors R-Truth’s exit earlier in 2025, sparking talk that it could be part of a bigger “work.” That’s made other promotions—TNA, AAA, and MLW included—hesitant to commit, even though there’s clear interest. Executives want to be sure this is a real split before making offers.
For now, Karrion Kross and Scarlett are free agents. Kross confirmed he’s open for business.
“Now accepting bookings… See you all again soon,” he wrote.
