The independent wrestling scene is already buzzing about Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s post-WWE run. Their asking prices for bookings have some wondering if their split from the company was as straightforward as it seems.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that at least one promoter questioned the situation after hearing their rates.
“One person involved in independent wrestling brought up that Karrion Kross/Scarlett are charging a very high price tag, and after the conversation said that they weren’t buying any of this regarding the WWE departure.”
Kross has pushed back on any suggestion that the exit was part of a storyline. He said he’s a free agent and explained that contract talks with WWE ended abruptly when a last-minute offer was pulled.
“Contrary to what people think, it wasn’t a work. I was given 24 hours to accept a new contract, and then it was off the table. I’m a free agent.”
Their WWE contracts officially expired on August 10. Reports indicate Kross got a late offer, while Scarlett received none, making a joint departure likely. Both are now listed in the alumni section of WWE’s website.
As free agents, they’re taking select, high-profile appearances. Their first confirmed stop will be The Big Event NY’s EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo on November 15 in Brentwood, New York.
