John Cena has hinted at a potential match against Seth Rollins, posting an image of the World Heavyweight Champion to his Instagram account earlier today. The post featured a photo of Rollins’ victory at SummerSlam, where he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on CM Punk. This social media activity follows recent comments from Cena at the Boston Fan Expo, where he named Rollins as one of his “wrestling soulmates.”
During the fan expo in Boston, Cena listed several wrestlers with whom he felt he had exceptional in-ring chemistry. “I have a few wrestling soulmates,” Cena stated. “Those are Randy Orton, Edge, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles. But gosh, I can’t take any shine away from Cody Rhodes–add him, too.”
Cena is currently on a farewell tour scheduled to conclude in December 2025. He has approximately 11 appearances remaining, which include upcoming SmackDown shows in Europe, Clash in Paris on August 31, and Crown Jewel in October. His next confirmed bout is against Logan Paul at Clash in Paris.
The social media post adds Rollins to a list of speculated opponents for Cena’s final match. Cena’s last match was at SummerSlam on August 3, where he lost the WWE Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight. Following the match, Cena was attacked by a returning Brock Lesnar, who laid him out with an F-5. The list of rumored final opponents also includes:
- Brock Lesnar, following the attack at SummerSlam.
- Gunther, who has been strongly rumored for a potential final bout.
