John Cena kept his stance neutral when asked about his opponent for his final WWE match this December in Boston.
Speaking during a Q&A at the Boston Fan Expo, the 16-time world champion said his approach hasn’t changed after more than two decades in the ring.

“I’ve been doing this for 23 years, and I’ve never once chosen my opponent,” Cena said. “I’ve always lived by the philosophy that life will give you opportunities every single day, and you have to do the best you can every single day with what life gives you. So whoever challenges me for that last match, I’m going to give it my best shot.”
Reports from WRKD Wrestling and Wrestlezone point to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther as the planned opponent for the Boston event. The matchup would pit two of WWE’s most dominant champions against each other as Cena’s 23-year run comes to an end.
Gunther has addressed the rumors, making it clear he’s eager for the chance to face Cena on such a stage.
Before that night arrives, Cena’s retirement tour continues with a scheduled match against Logan Paul at Clash in Paris.
