John Cena Calls Logan Paul "Underrated" Ahead of Clash in Paris Match

John Cena praised his upcoming opponent Logan Paul during a fan Q&A, calling him underrated and a legitimate threat ahead of their scheduled match.

John Cena Calls Logan Paul “Underrated” Ahead of Clash in Paris Match

During a Q&A session at FAN EXPO Chicago this weekend, John Cena offered high praise for his Clash in Paris opponent, Logan Paul. Answering a fan’s question, Cena stated he believes Paul has a “very good chance” of defeating him in their upcoming match.

The statement came after a “Logan sucks!” chant from the audience. When a fan interrupted Cena to call Paul “overrated,” the 17-time World Champion disagreed directly. “I disagree,” Cena stated. “I think he’s underrated. I think he gets a bad rep, he’s not an outsider, he belongs in the WWE. I think his best days are ahead of him, he’s got championships in his future.” Cena concluded by affirming he is not taking his opponent lightly, saying, “I’m training hard… I know I have a very, very tough opponent in Logan Paul.”

Cena’s comments build on the developing rivalry that was made official on the August 15 episode of SmackDown. During that broadcast, Paul interrupted a promo by Cena and challenged him to a match at Clash in Paris on August 31. Cena accepted the challenge, setting the stage for their singles contest.

While the match with Paul is Cena’s immediate focus, it occurs as a larger confrontation with Brock Lesnar is being built. Lesnar made a surprise return at SummerSlam, attacking Cena with an F-5 following his match. It was Lesnar’s first WWE appearance since August 2023.

The match between Cena and Lesnar is reportedly scheduled for a special Premium Live Event on September 20 in Indianapolis. To build anticipation for the encounter, Lesnar is already advertised to appear on the SmackDown episodes of September 12 and 19.
