Former WWE Champion Says She’s Interested in Signing with AEW

Lacey Lane, previously known as Kayden Carter in WWE, confirmed AEW as her preferred destination following her WWE release and 90-day non-compete clause.

Lacey Lane, formerly known as Kayden Carter in WWE, has confirmed that she is interested in joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion pointed to AEW as her preferred destination for the next chapter of her career.

During the interview, Lane said the AEW style fits her strengths.

“I think AEW has my pace, because those girls go hard. I love the way they work. They don’t bring nonsense, they bring fists, and you know me, I’m a girl that’s ready to fight.”

She also highlighted her personal ties to AEW’s roster, noting that many of her mentors and former colleagues from her time wrestling in Mexico are now part of the company. Comparing that to her WWE experience, Lane remarked:

“It was like me and Kacy [Catanzaro] against the world over there.”

Lane’s comments follow the expiration of her 90-day non-compete clause with WWE, which began after her release earlier this year. On August 20, she had already described frustrations with creative direction in WWE, stating that she felt “restricted” and unable to fully showcase her potential as a singles competitor.

Her final WWE appearance came on the April 11 episode of SmackDown. Alongside Katana Chance, she captured both the Women’s Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship during her run with the company.

While AEW remains her priority, Lane also mentioned TNA Wrestling as a possible option, praising the ongoing work of its women’s division.
