Drew McIntyre has declared that he no longer views his tag team partner Logan Paul as an outsider, referring to him as one of WWE’s own. During a recent appearance on the Huge Pop podcast, McIntyre praised Paul’s commitment and athletic ability, solidifying their on-screen alliance.
Discussing celebrity involvement in wrestling, McIntyre stated his approval for anyone who can “bring eyeballs and you actually care about the product and you’re willing to work hard.” He cited Bad Bunny and Jelly Roll as examples of individuals who worked hard, before focusing his praise on Paul.

“Somebody like Logan, he’s a super athlete. He has a respect and passion for WWE, but he knows exactly who he is,” McIntyre said. He continued, affirming Paul’s position in the company: “He wants to be here and he deserves to be here, and I don’t consider him an outsider. He’s one of our Superstars now. And I guess he’s my tag partner. We just need to find a freaking name for our little group now.”
The new partnership was featured at SummerSlam, where McIntyre and Paul secured a victory over Randy Orton and Jelly Roll after Paul pinned Jelly Roll with a frog splash. While cementing his tag team, McIntyre also appears to be in a singles program with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. On the August 8 episode of SmackDown, McIntyre attacked Rhodes, putting him through the announce table with a Claymore Kick.
In other recent interviews, McIntyre has compared the potential of his team with Paul to the original D-Generation X, noting that both he and Paul have a tendency to say “outrageous things” that reflect their genuine personalities, which could create “dangerous vibes for the management.”
The foundation of their alliance was revealed during McIntyre’s appearance on Paul’s Impaulsive podcast in July 2025. McIntyre explained that after a brutal Hell in a Cell match with CM Punk left him injured for three months, Logan Paul was the only person in WWE who contacted him. “When I needed support the most, only one person reached out—Logan Paul,” McIntyre stated.
