Chris Jericho Hints at WWE Return With Social Media Activity

Chris Jericho has fueled speculation about a potential return to WWE through a recent social media interaction. The veteran wrestler “liked” an Instagram post that highlighted his All Elite Wrestling contract is set to expire in December 2025 and referenced his previously stated openness to rejoining the company.

The social media activity comes during Jericho’s extended hiatus from AEW programming. His last appearance was at Dynasty in April 2025, where he lost the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. On the subsequent episode of Dynamite, Jericho disbanded his faction, The Learning Tree, which included Big Bill and Bryan Keith, and walked out as part of the storyline. His time away from the company also coincided with a now-concluded tour with his band, Fozzy.

In an April interview, Jericho had expressed interest in a potential WWE return, noting that the departure of Vince McMahon was a significant factor. He later reiterated in an interview with Comicbook Nation that he enjoyed his past work with WWE and that his decision to sign with the then-startup AEW was a gamble.

Since signing with AEW upon its inception in 2019, Jericho became the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion and has been a foundational talent for the promotion, also holding the Ring of Honor World Championship.

Prior to his move to AEW, Jericho spent nearly two decades with WWE, where he became the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion. His last match for the promotion was in the 50-man Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27, 2018.
