Since being defeated by Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble, in a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship, losing even his undefeated streak in Saudi Arabia, Sami Zayn has shown a noticeable change in personality.
Showing himself to be quite disappointed with his loss in January, Zayn, in recent episodes of Friday Night SmackDown, had verbal confrontations with Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu. On every occasion, at least so far, he apologized, but the atmosphere truly became tense.
According to Self Made Pro, the WWE creative team is seriously considering turning Zayn heel. This change would reportedly be accompanied by a face turn for Trick Williams, who has been receiving strong crowd support since his debut on the main roster.
“There are people in WWE who believe this. After reports surfaced that the company is considering turning Trick face, I reached out to confirm the situation. I was told that a double turn involving Trick Williams and Sami Zayn is being seriously considered. Sami Zayn as a heel – we’ll see how that works out.”
Zayn has been working as a babyface since the 2023 Royal Rumble, when he attacked Roman Reigns, then the Undisputed WWE Champion and leader of The Bloodline.
At the time, Zayn entered into a rivalry with Reigns and faced him for the title at Elimination Chamber. A month later, at WrestleMania 39, Zayn teamed up with Kevin Owens to win the WWE Tag Team Championship, defeating Jey and Jimmy Uso.
