CM Punk’s quest to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship ended in defeat at WWE Clash in Paris, following direct interference from Becky Lynch. The assist enabled her husband, Seth Rollins, to retain his title in the Fatal 4-Way main event.
The decisive moment occurred at the Paris La Défense Arena as Punk was preparing to hit the Go to Sleep on Rollins. A masked individual suddenly appeared and delivered a low blow to Punk, breaking his momentum. This attacker was revealed to be Lynch, who had successfully defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Nikki Bella earlier in the evening. Capitalizing on the disruption, Rollins executed a Stomp and secured the pinfall victory. The match also included fellow challengers LA Knight and Jey Uso.

After the broadcast concluded, a visibly exhausted and dejected CM Punk was seen collapsing at ringside.
The rivalry between Punk and Rollins was reignited at SummerSlam in August. On that night, Punk initially won the championship, only for Rollins to cash in his Money in the Bank contract moments later and take the title.
Lynch’s involvement has prompted speculation among fans about a potential WWE return for CM Punk’s wife, AJ Lee. Lee has not competed in a WWE ring since her retirement in 2015.
The controversial title match loss capped off a tense weekend for Punk. Prior to the event, he posted a message on his Instagram story advising fans not to touch strangers. The post was reportedly a reaction to an incident in Paris where a fan grabbed him, causing Punk to push the individual away.
