Upholding his promise, Callihan left his boots in the center of the ring, signaling the conclusion of his career.
Following the match, Callihan was greeted with respect by the TNA talent backstage. The moment was interrupted by Eric Young, who directed comments at both Callihan and Joe Hendry. “Don’t buy into the love of your peers,” Young told Callihan before turning his attention to Hendry. “Everything in TNA that’s going wrong right now is Hendry’s fault.” The segment ended with Hendry stepping up to Young.
Known as “The Death Machine,” Callihan ends his career with a total of 1,417 matches. He joined TNA in late 2017 and captured the TNA World Championship in October 2019, a title he held for 79 days before losing it to Tessa Blanchard. His career, which began in 2006, also included a run in WWE NXT as Solomon Crowe and stints in promotions such as Lucha Underground, MLW, and NJPW.
