The match in France was a stop on Cena’s retirement tour, which now has eight dates remaining before his in-ring career concludes.
An unresolved issue with Brock Lesnar continues to surround Cena. The conflict stems from an attack by Lesnar at SummerSlam. Before the match in Paris could be made, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis attempted to deliver a message from Lesnar to Cena, but Logan Paul interrupted, leading directly to their confrontation.
In addition to the Chicago show, Cena is also scheduled to compete at Wrestlepalooza on September 20th.
