The Young Bucks have directly referenced Jack Perry for the first time since his hiatus began, teasing the former champion’s potential return in a new episode of “Being The Elite.”
In a 47-second video titled “Guess Who Called The Bucks,” Matt and Nick Jackson are shown in a disheveled hotel room watching footage from their loss in the Lights Out Steel Cage match at Forbidden Door. During the clip, Matt Jackson’s phone rings, with the camera focusing on the screen to clearly display “Jack Perry” as the caller ID. After a moment of hesitation, Matt declines the call.

This segment marks the most explicit signal of a potential comeback for Perry, who has not appeared on AEW television since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear in November 2024. His last match was an unsuccessful challenge for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.
The direct tease on the web series follows a more subtle clue that appeared on the August 21 episode of AEW Dynamite. A vignette heralding the return of Killswitch featured an unidentified person administering an injection to Perry’s former partner. Viewers noted the figure wore a jacket nearly identical to the “Scapegoat” jacket Perry wore during his last AEW run.
Before his absence, Perry was aligned with The Young Bucks as part of The Elite. Their on-screen rejection of his call suggests a potentially fractured alliance if he returns. The recent teases also align with reports from July that Perry had been backstage at recent AEW tapings and that internal discussions about his return were underway.
