One of the matches confirmed for the next edition of Friday Night SmackDown, on March 6, is the Undisputed WWE Championship bout between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes.

The match was scheduled by Nick Aldis during the Elimination Chamber post-show as a form of punishment for McIntyre after he interfered in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, won by Randy Orton, clearly costing Rhodes the victory.

According to the latest edition of Self Made Sessions, from Self Made Pro, there is a strong possibility that Rhodes will win the title next Friday.

“On February 2, I was told directly and without any hesitation that the Undisputed WWE Championship match, according to Cody’s team, would be between Cody and Randy Orton. His team was informed in early February that the plan was to put him face-to-face with Randy Orton.”

Despite the recent rumors, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter had previously also speculated about the possibility of the WrestleMania 42 title match involving more participants, including McIntyre, Rhodes, Orton, and Jacob Fatu.

It is worth remembering that the match against McIntyre on March 6 will be Rhodes’ rematch, since, after losing the title to the Scottish on January 9, he had not yet received another opportunity to regain it.
