One of the greatest rivalries in history occurred in 2024, heading toward WrestleMania XL, between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

At the time, the rivalry, which also involved The Rock and Seth Rollins with personal insults and the families of both, was one of the most surprising in history, mainly due to the great twists that happened.

One of the most emblematic offenses of this rivalry was that of Reigns against Rhodes, calling him a “politician” due to his posture of always greeting everyone and kissing babies — something that, according to the Tribal Chief, were not legitimate actions.

However, in a recent edition of Do You Wanna Talk About?, Rhodes spoke about the nickname received, giving his opinion for the first time:

“Roman Reigns once called me a politician and I remember thinking: ‘I am not mad at that’. I grew up in this business. Everyone is a little bit of a politician to some degree. For me, there is politics and image posturing, and there is backstabbing and the stab in the back.”

Currently, both are on opposite sides on the Road to WrestleMania 42. Reigns is in a rivalry with CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Rhodes continues in the pursuit of the Undisputed WWE Championship, having, inclusive, a title match against Drew McIntyre on the next Friday Night SmackDown.
