Blake Monroe has defeated Jordynne Grace, settling their deeply personal grudge match at NXT Heatwave. The premium live event, held on August 24, 2025, in Lowell, Massachusetts, served as the backdrop for the climax of their intense rivalry.
The match began with immediate aggression when Monroe slapped Grace at the opening bell before attempting to flee the ring. Grace quickly took control on the outside, but the momentum shifted after Monroe slammed her back-first into the steel steps.

This victory culminates a bitter feud that ignited at NXT Evolution on July 13. During Grace’s championship match against Jacy Jayne, Monroe, who was in Grace’s corner, struck her with the title belt, costing her the NXT Women’s Championship and cementing her own heel turn.
In the weeks that followed, Monroe engaged in psychological warfare, using promos to mock and body-shame Grace. The animosity grew so intense that a clause was inserted into their match contract on the August 19 episode of NXT, stipulating the match would be canceled if Grace physically retaliated before Heatwave.
In an interview on August 23, Jordynne Grace confirmed the personal nature of the storyline, revealing that Monroe’s on-screen insults targeted her real-life insecurities. Grace described the experience as therapeutic, stating, “The stuff that Blake (Monroe) is saying about me in her promos, online, nothing that she has said is really wrong… Maybe I do look at myself in the mirror sometimes and I still see that same insecure person.”
Monroe, formerly known as Mariah May in AEW, debuted on NXT on June 3. She was initially presented as a face, even teaming with Jordynne Grace at the Great American Bash on July 12, where she pinned NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne. The turn against Grace occurred just one night later at NXT Evolution, kicking off their intense rivalry.
