“Hangman” Adam Page’s Opponent for AEW Forbidden Door is Finally Revealed

Hangman Page pushed MJF into cashing in his AEW World Title contract on Dynamite, locking in the Forbidden Door main event in London.

The main event for AEW Forbidden Door is locked in. On August 24, “Hangman” Adam Page will defend the AEW World Championship against MJF at The O2 Arena in London.

The match came together on the August 13 Dynamite in Cincinnati. During a tense exchange, Page baited MJF into using his guaranteed title shot from a past Casino Royale win. By accepting on the spot, MJF gave up the advantage of surprise.

This will be the first Forbidden Door held outside North America. The London date aligns with the UK’s Bank Holiday weekend, part of AEW’s push to grow its international audience.

With the headliner in place, the rest of the card is still taking shape. NJPW’s G1 Climax 35 has limited New Japan talent availability, putting more focus on AEW’s roster for this year’s cross-promotional showcase.

Other confirmed matches include Toni Storm defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Athena, and Mercedes Moné putting the TBS title on the line in a multi-promotional match featuring AEW’s Alex Windsor and challengers from CMLL and Stardom. Hiroshi Tanahashi is also set for his final match in the UK.

Injuries have created uncertainty. Will Ospreay’s status is unclear due to a neck injury, and Eddie Kingston has said he isn’t cleared to wrestle. These absences could shift the final lineup and leave room for surprise returns, with fans still speculating about Kenny Omega’s possible involvement.
