Former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., has put to rest talk of her retirement after a fan suggested she’d left the business. The speculation grew during her long absence from AEW programming.
The exchange happened on Instagram after Baker posted a beach photo. One user wrote, “So I see your officially retired.” Baker’s reply was dry and to the point:

“Because I’m at the beach…. In Florida… where I live?”
Baker’s last AEW appearance came in a promo with Serena Deeb on the November 13, 2024, episode of Dynamite. Since then, her absence has sparked ongoing discussion about her role in the company. AEW President Tony Khan has said her time off is part of a “rotating talent policy” and that she’ll return “when the time is right.” He also noted, “She’s never talked to me about leaving.”
In 2025, rumors circulated about backstage issues and a possible exit. Reports, however, indicate she hasn’t asked for a release. Her current contract still has significant time left, potentially running until 2027 with extensions for injury time.
Away from the ring, Baker has been dealing with serious health setbacks, including a mini-stroke in 2024, which contributed to her extended break. While her next AEW appearance hasn’t been announced, she remains under contract with no official plans for her departure.
