On the August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, a vignette confirmed the upcoming return of former three-time FTW Champion Hook. Styled like a comic book film, the clip showed an “H” symbol lighting up the sky, signaling the “Cold Hearted Handsome Devil” is set to rejoin the roster.
This ends several months away from the ring for Hook, who has been recovering from a concussion. His last match was on April 9, teaming with Samoa Joe against Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. After the match, Castagnoli hit him with a Neutralizer onto a steel chair, the storyline reason for his absence.

In June, Hook revealed he had suffered a real concussion in that April bout. He made a short, non-wrestling appearance at Double or Nothing during the Anarchy in the Arena match, but reports from Fightful Select and the Wrestling Observer noted he wasn’t cleared for in-ring action and that AEW was careful with his recovery.
No official return date has been announced, but the polished production of the vignette suggests AEW has plans in motion. His comeback could open doors to new title runs or the revival of past rivalries, adding fresh options for the promotion’s ongoing storylines.
