DarkState are the new NXT Tag Team Champions after defeating Hank Walker and Tank Ledger at Heatwave in Lowell, Massachusetts. The faction was represented by Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin, who secured the group’s first-ever title win in NXT.
The victory came after interference from fellow DarkState members Saquon Shugars and Cutler James at ringside. After the numbers game neutralized Tank Ledger on the outside, Lennox and Griffin hit their Doomsday Device finisher on Hank Walker for the pinfall. Hank and Tank were unaware of which two members they would face until the match began, following a series of attacks by the faction leading up to the event.

The tag team title change was not the only championship news to come out of the night’s opening matches. In the first contest of the evening, Lola Vice defeated Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan in a three-way match.
With the victory, Vice has become the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. She is now scheduled to face the champion, Jacy Jayne, at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, September 27, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
