During the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, Bryan Danielson abruptly walked away from his commentary duties just before the main event, citing personal issues with Jon Moxley.

Bryan Danielson Walks Out On Forbidden Door Main Event Commentary

Bryan Danielson walked out of his guest commentary role at Forbidden Door right before the main event began. He stated he could not continue due to “personal reasons” involving competitors in the match. Danielson specifically referenced his issues with Jon Moxley and The Death Riders.

The sudden departure intensified ongoing speculation about his status with AEW. Earlier in the evening, Danielson had been advertised for the Zero Hour pre-show panel but did not appear. On the broadcast, Renee Paquette addressed his absence, noting Danielson is a “busy man” and his appearance was not guaranteed.

This followed his return to AEW television on the previous episode of Dynamite, where he served as a guest commentator for the entire broadcast. It marked his first appearance on Dynamite in several months.

Danielson has not wrestled since losing his AEW World Title match at WrestleDream in October 2024. His only other recent appearance was a brief, non-wrestling confrontation with his former ally, Jon Moxley, at All In before he disappeared from programming again.

The narrative around his career was further complicated on a recent episode of Collision when Nigel McGuinness referred to Danielson as “the late great.” When corrected by Tony Schiavone, McGuinness clarified his comment by stating that Danielson’s “career is as good as dead.”
