MMA veteran Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has publicly condemned the actions of his son, Raja Jackson, after footage of a violent assault at a California pro-wrestling event went viral. In a statement, Rampage confirmed that the wrestler attacked, Stewart Smith, also known as ‘Syko Stu’, is hospitalized but is currently conscious and in stable condition.
The incident took place on Saturday, August 23, during a KnokX Pro Wrestling show. Following a pre-show altercation where Smith reportedly hit Raja with a can, a scripted retaliation in the ring was planned. The situation escalated dramatically when Raja Jackson, an MMA fighter, rendered Smith unconscious with a slam and proceeded to land more than 20 punches to the head of the unresponsive wrestler before being pulled away by others. The assault was broadcast live on Raja’s personal stream.

According to Rampage, the situation was a “work that went wrong.” He explained that his son was told he could get his “payback” during the show, but criticized the poor judgment that led to the real-life assault. “I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL,” Rampage stated.
Further complicating the matter, Rampage revealed that his son should not have been involved in any physical activity. He disclosed that Raja had suffered a concussion in sparring just days before the event and “had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.” He concluded by apologizing on behalf of his son and the streaming platform Kick.
As a direct result of the incident, Kick has banned Raja Jackson from its platform. Stewart Smith remains hospitalized with multiple injuries.
