During a surprise appearance on the August 22, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch shut down chants for CM Punk, stating, “Nobody wants that old ass.” The comment came after Lynch adopted an adversarial stance against her native Irish crowd.
Lynch opened the show, initially welcoming the Dublin audience. After the crowd began a “We deserve it” chant in celebration of the televised event, Lynch’s tone shifted. She declared they didn’t deserve to be on TV and expressed disappointment over her lack of media coverage in Ireland despite her global accomplishments. The promo drew a hostile reaction, with the audience chanting for her to “Shut the fuck up” and for Lyra Valkyria, before the CM Punk chants began.

The segment was interrupted by WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Before their confrontation could escalate, Nia Jax appeared, stating Lynch had “bigger problems than Tiffany” before attacking Stratton. Jade Cargill then entered to make the save for the champion.
Following a brief staredown between Cargill and Lynch, the latter retreated from the ring. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis subsequently announced the night’s main event: Becky Lynch and Nia Jax would team up to face Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.
