Stephanie Vaquer Reacts to Naomi’s Pregnancy Announcement

Stephanie Vaquer, the number one contender for the Women’s World Championship, has publicly responded to Naomi’s recent pregnancy announcement. In an Instagram post published earlier today, Vaquer stated that the news allowed the former champion to “escape” their planned title match and avoid losing the championship at the upcoming Clash in Paris premium live event.

While congratulating Naomi and her husband Jimmy Uso, Vaquer sent a pointed message, asserting that the timing prevented her from capturing the title.

“I didn’t tell you before because you were surely overwhelmed with emotions, but I want to congratulate you and Jimmy on the future superstar that’s on the way ❤️,” Vaquer wrote. “Someday I’ll tell your baby how they helped you escape from me and prevented ‘Stephanie Velcro’ from winning the title in Paris 🙃☺️😆. Enjoy this new chapter, I know you’re going to be a great mom, Chiquita. I’m already ready for Paris and I’ll be here, waiting for you whenever you decide to come back 💪🔥@trinity_fatu [Naomi]❤️.”

Vaquer earned her championship opportunity by winning a 20-Woman Battle Royal at Evolution. She was positioned to be the next challenger for the title following Naomi’s scheduled defense against IYO SKY.

The comments follow the events of the August 18 episode of Monday Night Raw, where Naomi confirmed she was pregnant and vacated the Women’s World Championship. The segment began after Raw General Manager Adam Pearce brought Naomi to the ring, where a clip from Stephanie McMahon’s podcast revealed the news. This announcement came one week after Naomi was declared not medically cleared to compete in a title defense against Iyo Sky on August 11.

During the in-ring segment, Naomi maintained her heel persona despite a supportive crowd. She refused to hand the title to Pearce, telling him, “I ain’t handing you s—,” and warned him to leave due to her hormones “jumping like a disco.” She taunted the women’s locker room, crediting her husband Jimmy Uso’s preference to “Netflix and chill” as the only reason she wouldn’t dominate the division for the rest of the year.

After placing the belt in the center of the ring, Naomi promised to return for it in “nine months and some change,” even if she had to come back “breastfeeding with my baby in my arms.” She concluded the promo by referencing her husband’s family, exclaiming, “I guess on the bright side, the Bloodline continues baby!”

Naomi’s reign as Women’s World Champion lasted 35 days. She won the title by successfully cashing in her Money in the Bank contract during a match between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley at Evolution in July. Her final match was a successful triple-threat title defense against both Sky and Ripley at SummerSlam on August 3.

With the championship now vacant, WWE has not yet announced how a new Women’s World Champion will be crowned.
