WWE NXT Specials to Remain on Peacock, Not Included in ESPN Deal

WWE has confirmed that NXT Premium Live Events will not be included in its new broadcasting agreement with ESPN. The exclusivity for these events on Peacock will remain in place through at least March 2026.

The change comes as WWE prepares to shift its main roster Premium Live Events, such as Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, to ESPN’s sports streaming platform. The transition will officially begin on September 20, 2025, following Clash in Paris, which marks the final main roster Premium Live Event to stream on Peacock.

WWE was able to advance its timetable for the ESPN move after fulfilling its contractual obligations with Peacock ahead of schedule. The company delivered additional event nights, including extended editions of SummerSlam, allowing an earlier conclusion of the existing deal.

As a result, fans will need multiple platforms to access WWE programming. Main roster Premium Live Events will move to ESPN, while NXT specials remain on Peacock. RAW has aired on Netflix since January 2025, SmackDown continues on USA Network, and NXT’s weekly show remains on CW.

Industry sources indicate WWE is expected to enter negotiations soon for the future rights to NXT Premium Live Events, the WWE Network library, and other properties not covered by the current ESPN deal.
