Mercedes Moné has declared herself a better actor than John Cena. The statement was made during an interview with TV Insider while discussing a list that ranked wrestlers who have transitioned to acting, placing Cena at number three behind Batista and The Rock.
When asked where she would rank herself, Moné referenced a recently filmed Christmas movie and noted that directors on set were eager to cast her in future projects.

“I definitely see more acting in my future. I saw that list, and I should have been number 2 on the list. Don’t you think? Hello! I’m definitely better than the guy you can’t see (John Cena).”
The statement comes as Moné prepares for a major title defense at Forbidden Door this Sunday, August 24, at The O2 Arena in London. She will defend the TBS Championship in a Fatal 4-Way match against Alex Windsor of AEW, Persephone of CMLL, and Bozilla of Stardom. Moné enters the event having held the championship for over 450 days.
On the August 20 episode of AEW Dynamite, Moné teamed with ROH Women’s World Champion Athena to defeat Toni Storm and Alex Windsor. Although Athena secured the pin on Windsor, the match featured a moment where Windsor forced a tap-out from Moné with a Sharpshooter while Moné was not the legal competitor.
Currently holding eight championships across various promotions, Moné has another title defense scheduled before Forbidden Door. On August 22, she will defend her RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship against Emersyn Jayne at Global Wars UK, potentially entering the Sunday pay-per-view as a nine-time champion.
