TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy has indicated that more WWE talent could appear in the company, describing the ongoing crossover as a “creative collaborative process.” During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Hardy addressed the possibility of further surprises following AJ Styles’ recent return to TNA.
“Yeah. I mean, anything is possible. This isn’t like when WCW and ECW invaded WWE because, you know, WWE was in control of all the booking, but there’s definitely like TNA pitches ideas to NXT, NXT pitches ideas to WWE. I mean, or or NXT pitches ideas to TNA and they go back and forth, you know, and it’s a very creative collaborative process and uh it really is unpredictable and anything can happen.”
His brother and tag team partner, Jeff Hardy, added his perspective as a fan of the crossover, specifically praising a current NXT talent.

“Me as a pro wrestling fan, I’m a pretty big fan of tricky non-stop action. I love what Trick Williams has been doing. Great. It’s been so so entertaining. I love his theme song. I listen to it all. I love Trick. I love Trick, man. It goes hard.”
The comments come amid a formalized, multi-year agreement between WWE and TNA that facilitates talent exchanges. The partnership allows select NXT Superstars to appear on TNA programming, while TNA talent also features on WWE NXT. This collaboration is a key component of both companies’ current creative direction.
A primary example of this integration is the ongoing storyline between TNA World Champion Trick Williams and Mike Santana. After Williams successfully defended his title at Emergence, Santana attacked him on NXT, costing him an opportunity at the NXT Championship. This angle has developed across both TNA iMPACT! and NXT, illustrating the depth of the creative crossover.
Recent reports have also confirmed that the partnership includes a business component, granting WWE the “right of first refusal” and an option to purchase TNA should its parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, decide to sell.
Currently, The Hardy Boyz are building towards a confrontation with Team 3D at TNA’s upcoming Bound For Glory event in October.
