WWE is preparing to expand the NXT calendar of Premium Live Events, with the brand expected to hold around eight major shows per year. While the exact number has not yet been finalized, company officials are moving toward a strategy that gives NXT more frequent spotlight on its own stage.

The update comes as NXT builds toward No Mercy on September 27. This will be the brand’s first major event since April not scheduled against an AEW pay-per-view, giving NXT a date without direct competition.
As NXT increases its schedule, WWE’s main roster programming will shift in the United States to ESPN beginning in September. NXT events will remain on Peacock domestically and continue streaming on Netflix for international markets.
With the expanded lineup, the company is signaling that the developmental brand will feature more high-profile moments and debuts spread throughout the year.
