WWE has locked in seven of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s top names to new contracts, reinforcing its hold on the roster after acquiring the Mexican promotion. The move is part of a larger plan to fold AAA into WWE’s global operations.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the signings were aimed at securing talent ahead of AAA’s biggest annual event.

“Microman, La Hiedra, La Parka, Faby Apache, Nino Hamburguesa, Mesias and Lady Flammer have signed WWE contracts for AAA and are already being merchandised. At this point I would strongly suspect everyone on the TripleMania show is under a WWE contract since WWE owns the company and isn’t putting anyone on its platform that can legally walk into AEW.”
WWE’s long-term plan for AAA is taking shape. The company intends to relaunch AAA as its own brand in 2026, backed by a major ESPN deal. A Performance Center in Mexico is set to open next year, creating a system to train new talent in WWE’s style while keeping the core elements of Lucha Libre.
Changes to AAA’s presentation are also under review. WWE is considering a redesign of the promotion’s well-known logo to match its corporate image for a global market. While no update will debut at this weekend’s TripleMania XXXIII, the event will feature WWE commentators JBL and Corey Graves for its broadcast on WWE platforms.
TripleMania on August 16 will spotlight WWE’s presence in AAA. Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano, and Dragon Lee are set to challenge for the AAA Mega Championship, fueling talk that Mysterio may be positioned as the new face of the brand.
