AEW Signs Veteran to a New Multi-Year Contract Extension

Fightful Select reports that AEW has signed Matt Menard to a new five-year contract, keeping “Daddy Magic” with the company through 2030.

Menard’s previous deal was set to run out around last month’s All In: Texas event. Sources say the 41-year-old was “ecstatic” to finalize the extension and remain with AEW.

The new contract reflects his shift in role over the years. Once a regular in-ring competitor, Menard has become a steady voice on commentary while making occasional appearances in the ring. He’s wrestled only four matches in 2025 but has been a key part of AEW’s broadcast team for the past two years.

He has also stepped into a mentorship role, most notably with Daniel Garcia. Menard has been featured in Garcia’s storylines as a constant ally, including an April angle with FTR that reinforced their group’s bond following the split from the Jericho Appreciation Society in July 2023.

Menard joined AEW in August 2021 with longtime partner Angelo Parker. Then known as 2.0, they quickly became part of major programs with names like Jon Moxley and Sting, cementing their place on the roster.
