As previously reported, Je’Von Evans was apparently injured during last night’s episode of WWE RAW (the 19th) in his match against El Grande Americano. The bout was stopped just a few minutes after it began, with several referees checking on the former NXT star at ringside as the show went to a commercial break.

Immediately after the commercial, it was officially confirmed that Evans was not medically cleared to continue, and El Grande Americano was declared the winner.

Evans was called up to the main roster earlier this year, on January 5, joining the RAW brand after signing his contract in a segment with Adam Pearce. He had already made a few appearances on the main roster on SmackDown last year.

So what is Evans’s situation following RAW in Ireland? Dave Meltzer provided some new details on the matter.

Update on Je’Von Evans

Dave Meltzer revealed shortly after the show that Evans is doing well, despite the medical team at ringside initially suspecting a concussion, which led to the match being stopped.

In his own words, Meltzer said the following:

“Je’Von Evans was injured and the match had to be stopped on Raw today against Grande Americano. Right now the belief is it wasn’t too bad, there was more fear of a concussion and he’s said to be fine and flying home.”

The information that Evans is fine was also corroborated by PWInsider and Fightful. The wrestler reportedly traveled shortly after the show with the crew to continue WWE’s European tour.

Evans is expected to be part of this year’s Royal Rumble, although that has not been officially confirmed. If he does compete, it will be his first match of this kind.
